Sports & Fitness Cooling

More Airflow for Active Spaces.

Portable evaporative air coolers for gyms, fitness centers, athletic facilities, practice areas, courts, tracks and other warm-weather sports environments.

Cooling for Active Environments

When the activity goes up, airflow matters.

Gyms, athletic facilities and sports environments can become hot quickly, especially in large or naturally ventilated spaces.

Cool Boss portable evaporative air coolers combine water evaporation with high-volume airflow to provide targeted cooling in appropriate indoor, outdoor and semi-enclosed environments.

Instead of permanently dedicating cooling equipment to one area, portable models can be positioned where additional airflow is useful—from training spaces and courts to sidelines and recovery areas.

Sports & Fitness Applications

Cooling for the places people train and compete.

Portable evaporative cooling can support a range of athletic, training and fitness environments.

01

Gyms & Fitness Centers

Add high-volume airflow to workout floors, training areas and other large fitness spaces.

02

Athletic Facilities

Support school, university and recreational athletic facilities with portable cooling options.

03

Courts

Position airflow near appropriate indoor or outdoor court areas, benches and adjacent activity zones.

04

Tracks & Training Areas

Add targeted cooling around training, staging and recovery areas near tracks and practice facilities.

05

Fields & Sidelines

Portable equipment can provide airflow in suitable sideline, bench and support areas.

06

Recreation Facilities

Use portable evaporative cooling in appropriate community, recreational and multipurpose activity spaces.

High-Volume Airflow

Go beyond simply moving hot air.

Conventional fans move the air that's already there. Evaporative cooling adds another step.

A Cool Boss draws warm air through water-saturated evaporative media. As water evaporates, it absorbs heat from the incoming airstream before the fan moves that air into the targeted area.

This approach is especially relevant to open, outdoor and well-ventilated sports environments where traditional refrigerated air conditioning may not be a practical way to target every activity zone.

How It Works

Water. Air. Evaporation.

A straightforward process designed to combine evaporative cooling with high-volume airflow.

01

Saturate the Media

Water circulates over evaporative media inside the cooler.

02

Draw In Warm Air

The fan pulls warm air through the wet media, where evaporation absorbs heat.

03

Move Cooler Air

High-volume airflow carries the evaporatively cooled air toward the targeted activity area.

Targeted Cooling

Bring the airflow to the activity.

Portable Cooling

Cool the zone—not necessarily the whole building.

Different parts of an athletic facility can have very different cooling needs.

A weight-training area may need additional airflow while another cooler is positioned near a practice area, sideline or recovery zone.

Portable Cool Boss models make it possible to reposition equipment as activities, schedules and facility layouts change.

Why Cool Boss

A flexible approach to sports facility cooling.

Cool Boss combines evaporative cooling, high-volume airflow and portable options for active environments.

01

High-Volume Airflow

Move substantial airflow through targeted athletic and fitness areas.

02

Evaporative Cooling

Use water evaporation to absorb heat from incoming air.

03

Portable Options

Reposition applicable models as activities and schedules change.

04

Flexible Placement

Direct airflow toward the areas that need additional cooling.

Cooling equipment is only one part of heat management.

Evaporative cooling performance varies with ambient temperature, relative humidity, ventilation, equipment model, placement and airflow. Cooling equipment does not replace appropriate hydration, rest, acclimatization, supervision or applicable athletic and workplace heat-safety procedures.

SPORTS & FITNESS

COOL BOSS FOR SPORTS & FITNESS

It’s not hard to see that a swamp cooler for sports can quickly make a difference on football fields, indoor/outdoor tracks and courts, baseball fields, etc. These spaces are all difficult to keep cool. Some fitness centers, schools, universities, and gyms are willing to pay for HVAC, but not everyone can, and not everyone should! Whether or not you use an indoor swamp cooler, young people involved in outdoor sports are often subjected to grueling temperatures and hard exercise. If it’s hot and sunny enough to demand sunscreen, it’s hot enough to risk dehydration and heat sickness. A swamp cooler for sports works equally well indoors or outdoors

Because swamp coolers can cover well over 2,000 sq. ft., they’re more ideal for stretching much of a football field or track length than conventional fans. Even if you find a large non-evaporative cooling fan, the brilliance of Cool Boss is its water reservoir that holds a large stock of tap water. Need to make things even cooler? Drop some ice in the tank and enjoy a super icy breeze. It’ll feel like Mother Nature turned the A/C up on the wind.

Athletic departments that service a high volume of students will find Cool Boss a worthy investment. By simply using a Cool Boss or two, they will end up saving thousands of dollars that they would’ve spent on traditional A/C. And what can they do with their newfound fortune? They can buy new equipment for the team, they can finance team travel plans, and they could make sure the students have every advantage available to them. It all starts with Cool Boss. Fitness centers of all kinds can also keep their treadmill and track runners from overheating—all without cranking up the A/C. More and more swamp coolers are being used for sports and fitness, and we’re just fine with that. In fact, we think it’s pretty cool!
